08/11/2026 —- August 21 Event; Apparel and Yearbook; BOUND
Hi parents!
Just a couple of quick things today before tomorrow’s arrival!
* Reminder, school starts at 8:10 AM and ends at 3:25 PM.
* We have a Back-to-School Event on the calendar for Friday, August 21, immediately following school (3:30-6:00 PM). This is a great event for our students to hang out, get acquainted, and have fun. The event is $10 per student, sponsored by our faculty and staff. See the flier for details. $10 payable at the office by Thursday, August 20.
* The apparel order form is attached (Due Wednesday, August 19). The yearbook order form is attached. You may order a yearbook now or during Parent Teacher Conferences in October or February.
* As a refresher, athletes must be registered in BOUND. Here are the details:
Once there, click on registration and the dropdown of “activities”. This will then either take you to your family portal where you will begin the registration process, or it will prompt you to sign in.
If this is your first time, you will still go to:
https://www.gobound.com/ne/schools/platteview From there, you can either sign in with a google or apple account, or you can create a new Bound account. Then you will fill in the information as it prompts you.
Looking forward to tomorrow!
Hi parents!
08/10/2026 —-Construction; Buses; Parent Drop-off & Pick-up; Orientation Slides
Ready or not, it’s back-to-school week!
* Classes start on Wednesday at 8:10 AM. If dropping off a student, between 7:45-8 AM is a great target time.
* The construction work on our 7-12 campus will continue during this school year and much of next school year. We will communicate as needed to keep you updated and ensure student, staff, and parent safety while on our campus.
* The south drive that will wrap around the back of the junior high is not yet fully paved. With the wet weather the past few weeks, it has been a challenge to complete the driveway. Once that paving is finished (scheduled this week) and has passed inspection, it will become our bus drop off (morning) and pick-up (after school) until the entire project is complete.
* PARENT DROP OFF – In the morning, you may drop off your student directly in front of Platteview Central. These first few days will require more patience as buses will be dropping off using the same space. Please be early to help alleviate some traffic and congestion. See the graphic below.
* PARENT PICK UP – This is VERY IMPORTANT. If you are picking up your child after school, use the west parking spaces in the front of the high school (outside of the red construction fence). Park in a stall and your student will walk to you. PLEASE DO NOT pick up your student directly in front of PC, as that will be strictly for buses. See the attached graphic.
* The orientation slides from Thursday are attached if you did not attend or if you wish to revisit them.
Hope you have a great week! Keep watching for school updates.

07-13-2026 —- Back-to-School Reminders
Hi parents!
* School starts on Wednesday, August 12. Still a lot of summer left, but we are just inside one month away! Please check out the important information below:
* Late last week you should have received a family email from PowerSchool Enrollment. This is your back-to-school student verification email. Just follow the steps to be ready for back to school. Please complete this REQUIRED process by Monday, August 3.
* The school supply list can be found –>
HERE
* Be sure you have your school physical appointment made (or completed). ALL 7th graders need a physical exam prior to starting school. 8th graders need a physical to play sports.
* On Thursday (July 16), I will send an email with a SignUp for iPad checkout on August 3 and/or August 4. Please sign up for a ten-minute block to come to school (with your student) to get the iPad and provide your school physical. 7th graders will complete a quick screening with our health staff as well.
* Back-to-School Night is Thursday, August 6. The schedule is:
Sports Meetings at 5:30
Orientation (auditorium) at 6:15
Open House at 7:00
* Registration for 2026-27 athletics is ongoing (REQUIRED if playing a sport). See the message below from our Activities Director, Mr. Siske:
Once there, click on registration and the dropdown of “activities”. This will then either take you to your family portal where you will begin the registration process, or it will prompt you to sign in.
If this is your first time, you will still go to:
https://www.gobound.com/ne/schools/platteview From there, you can either sign in with a google or apple account, or you can create a new Bound account. Then you will fill in the information as it prompts you.
* Construction updates will be shared as they become available. As we start back to school, we will keep you posted on this process. Right now, access to our campus is fairly limited. As we near school start-up, much of this will be cleared up. Keep in mind this is an 18-24 month project, so there will be ongoing work as students return to school.
Have a great week and look for that SignUp on Thursday for iPad checkout!
07-02-2026 —- Mid Summer Update
Hello PC parents!
With the calendar now showing July, we are at the ‘halfway’ point of summer break. With that comes a few more emails and a few reminders. So, here ya go!
* Physical Exam – ALL 7th graders MUST have a completed physical exam prior to entering junior high. 8th graders that plan to play a school sport, MUST also have a physical exam on file prior to taking part in any practices/games. We will accept your physical form that your doctor provides, or you can share
this one with your physician. Most doctors prefer to use their own form.
* In roughly one week, you will receive an email from our district office that will direct you to complete the Online Verification process for back to school. This must be done by August 1.
* Registration for 2026-27 athletics is now open.
* Our iPad checkout days will be on Monday, August 3, and Tuesday, August 4. In about two weeks, I will share a SignUp Genius so that you can select your time to pickup your student iPad. These are 10 minute time slots, so it is generally very quick and easy.
* Back to School Night is Thursday, August 6. The following schedule will be used:
5:30 – Fall Sports Meetings (Volleyball, Football, Cross Country)
6:15 – Orientation for ALL students and parents
7:00 – Open House (tour PC and PHS)
* As a reminder, we have a very big construction project taking place right now. The junior high has very limited access. Updates will be shared as we inch closer to the start of school.
* The junior high office will be open starting Monday, July 20.
Thanks for being on top of these ‘Back to School’ items in coming weeks.
Have a wonderful July 4 weekend!
